Stories are everywhere — in newspapers, at the next table in the coffee shop, in your Twitter feed, and of course, in each product that surrounds you. By understanding the fundamentals of the story and deconstructing it to the building blocks, we can present it in a more powerful and convincing way.

This visual summary of the structure of the story, proposed by Christina Wodtke, works great for user-center design process.

Start from the character with the goal in the particular context and walk him through the inciting moment, struggles and crisis, to the final changed state. I really like how this structure helps in sketching the 6-pics storyboard and driving the further UI thinking.
