Applying branding to your visuals with one click — a UX case study
The value in branding is that… it makes you memorable.
The Project
‘My Brand kit’ is a one-click branding feature that allows you to apply your logo and brand colour(s) to any design that you create. This feature uses a colour-matching algorithm where you can click through to see various combinations of your brand colours applied to your design.

Project Goal
The goal is to redesign the current brand experience in the Venngage editor to help users complete their branded designs faster. Users that are successful at creating designs with their branding are more likely to retain.
Pain points:
- Confusion with what the existing ‘My Brand’ feature is.
- The disconnect between adding assets to the ‘My Brand’ page and how to use them while editing.
- Brand logos, colours and fonts are accessed in different locations within the tool.
- A lot of manual editing is still required to complete a design.
Current User Flow
First, I went through the user flow to understand how the existing brand feature works. Users with the business plan have full access to the ‘My Brand’ page. On this page they can add in their logos, brand colours and fonts in order access them later while they are working on their designs.

At first glance, it looks quite simple. The big plus buttons are a clear indication that this is where you would add logos, brand colours whereas fonts can be selected using the dropdown but… what happens next?
Select a Template
A user would need to go to the templates page to select a design — it might be a design that’s similar to what they had in mind, maybe one they feel inspired by or it simply works with the information they have. We’ll use this template as an example!
