I was travelling home on a red-eye flight from Dubai, and I couldn’t sleep. I’m notoriously bad at sleeping on flights, which is awful when you’re on a 9-hour trip. Flicking through the latest movies and tv shows nothing caught my eye. Bored off my head, I decided I’d look through the learning section of the inflight entertainment. That’s where I came across a course by Shane Snow on Storytelling. It was great, Shane beautifully articulated why it is essential and how to become better at storytelling.

“Storytelling is a powerful way to make people care about products, brands, and causes.”

This course opened my eyes that we need to become better at storytelling and that it plays a massive part in our designs. As designers, we try to tell this story through visuals. But an area that we often neglect is copywriting and how it plays an essential part in UX and telling the story of the designs we create.

Here are some resources that helped me, and I hope they will help you too.
