Signposting: Recognition Over Recall

A player board for the game Root. Player boards consist of three main sections: a top, left side, and right side. The top contains special rules specific to just the faction. The left side has the turn order laid out into three phases, with instructions on what should be done at each step. The right side has space for components used by the player of the faction. This article focuses mostly on the left side.

An image showing the components used in the game Tiny Towns. The game is set up for four players, but it can support up to six. There is a small, white hammer made out of wood in the top left of the image that is used to designate the current player, also positioned toward the top left. This hammer is mentioned later in the article.

Data Validation: Additional Players

An example of the board and some cards during a normal game of Fury of Dracula. The board contains a stylized map of Europe, with some miniatures made of plastic on some points marked on the map. Dracula is not among those miniatures.

I'd love to know how to get into board game UX. I've always been obsessed with playing them and think I'd fit right at home with this!
