Another idea to add to this is for the bug fix releases/sections of the notes, state the number of bugs fixed. So instead of just saying “Minor bug fixes”, say “27 minor bugs fixed”. A quick way to convey the degree of effort that’s been going into an app.

Worth also using something like https://releasenotes.io so there’s a running history your users can check out online at any time. It has a lot of the best practices listed here actually built in too.
