Microsoft 365 Interface showing AI tool to create another AI Agents.

I was always fascinated by the idea of having a magical assistant who would know me, my way of saying things or even understanding how I think. After 2022 and the AI hype — many companies started investing more money into this technology and thanks to this we got better, faster and cheaper LLMs like ChatGPT, Anthropic or Gemini.

Ironically thanks to the hype, companies had more money to spend on research and development of those models and now we have better AI solutions, even though AI has been used in ecommerce for a long time now.

Thanks to this revolution I could also become AI & Automation Lead at EDISONDA — Polish UX Research Agency. I don’t treat myself as an expert but I still think I have something to share.

Digital workplace vs Smart digital workplace

Digital Workplace essentially replicates the functions of a physical office but in a digital space, allowing users to use digital tools to make their life as a workers better. Usually when we speak about digital workplace we are speaking about Intranet + Tools or an ecosystem supporting everyday tasks like communication tools, automations, devices that make your life at work easier.

The “Intelligent” part, at least when I think of it, is when you add automated flows that understand natural language (like ChatGPT with actions).

So to describe it more vividly you can imagine a process where your employee asks for a new device. Instead of emails you can have an AI that will answer questions about the order status or will answer some typical questions like what kind of devices they are allowed to request, how to configure it etc.
