Following his approach, we could enable new functionality by reusing and extending existing components.

That sounds great. It's similar in marketing. When you can repurpose content, concepts and research, you can make it more valuable and less risky.

Great articele! But you mention looking beyond informational architecture but I still see it as a bigger part of that approach. Like Objects, objects relations, attributes for me it's still Infirmational architecture. But anyway I like how you identified this approach and how you explained it.
