Notion template for “The Guide to Design”
Helps you to learn with us and track your progress better

Why I made it
In the past months, I have helped a few non-techs who want to break into the UX design world.
During the mentoring, I introduced the UX world with “The Guide to Design” to my mentees.
As homework, some progress had to be made. Talking with them, I found that showing the learning progress would help with motivation.
Inspired by Easlo’s book tracker, I built this learning tracker for them.
Here I want to share this template for anyone who wants to learn to design more practically using the very same guidance.

In this learning tracker — you can easily access lessons, materials (reading and watching), reflections and practice — following the structure devised by UX Collective.
Find what you need
The template is structured with the following 4 pages —

1. Dashboard: Access to your learning materials
2. Highlights & Favorites: Place for your highlights and bookmarked materials
3. Practice & Actions: Note down your answers for each practice; make your own action items
4. The Road Ahead: the final lesson from the guide. Walk it through and make your own action items
Furthermore, you can —
- Track your progress with a visual progress bar
- Start your journey and keep on track
- Understand why the chapter matters
- Track your learning progress
- Easy link to the web materials
- Note down or bookmark what inspired you
- Reflect and take actions
- Make your own action items
Here are more details about the template features
■ Track your progress with a visual progress bar

A simple way to track your progress. It is important to learn but also critical to reflect on what you have learnt.
Following the lessons, you are able to mark your progress. The tracker helps you to know your status, revisit the learning progress and help you to get motivated.
■ Start your journey step-by-step

A chapter list is shown as a sidebar, easily accessible while you explore around.
From the thumbnail, you can easily track the sub-progress for each chapter.
■Check what entails in every chapter

In every chapter, all you need is included — lessons, materials (reading and watching), reflections and practice.
■ Understand why the chapters matter

Under each Chapter page, a new lesson starts.
The link leads to the official lesson page. You can either click on the page or open the toggle to read.
■ Track your learning progress

Plan your reading and watching. Mark them down to ensure you are on track
■ Easy link to the web materials

On the dashboard or on the chapter page, you can switch the view.
In the article or video views, you can easily click the link.
■ Note down or bookmark what inspired you

You can find all highlights in one place from the menu. You can also note your highlights under each material page.
■ Reflect and take actions

After ingesting the knowledge, it is time to digest it. Try to reflect using the guidance, and note down what you think.
It is important to put down what you think now, because you may find it helpful later.
■ Make your own action items

Designers are trained to be practical.
You can make and track your tasks not only under each chapter but also at the “Action” section of ”Practice & Action”.
