When we are designing, it may be customary to want to place a large amount of content in the smallest possible space. We want to give our visitors a lot of information at a glance, with hardly any blank spaces in our design. But this can become counterproductive, and supersaturation causes an unwanted effect. And, although many people believe that white space is a lost space, this element must be the great backbone in our web designs. Visual clarity in a design is what keeps readers interested in the content. If we add too many elements, such as images, colors and texts without using white spaces on a website, it will look unattractive.

What is white space?
When we talk about blank space, we mean the space between the different elements of a page. The space between two letters, the space between the lines of a text, the one that surrounds the images and the margins and fills of the page. We can say that white space is the adhesive that maintains the entire structure of our cohesive page. If we do not deal with this blank space and provide it with a certain organization, our entire website will give the impression of being messy and will worsen the usability of our website.
Although sometimes we believe it is a wasted space, we must think of white space as another element of our design. When we stop to analyze, for example, the optimal size that the images will have on our website, we must do so with the empty space that surrounds it.
