HHow many forms have you filled out in your life? I doubt you could even hazard a guess. Forms are a ubiquitous part of life, and while the subjects of some fields are straightforward like your address, others contain hidden complexities. There are few fields that can prompt the kind of existential friction and design-based frustration as having to declare your gender.
