UX / UI and the assault of opinion-based design

This is not an article about UX vs UI and whether they should be the same job. How should I know. The answer is always it depends. And the internet is full of people waving their… opinions… around. This is about an experience I recently had which reminded me of the very different mindsets involved when you have on your UX hat, or your UI hat.

This is my opinion of opinion-based design.
