This also happened because of how Spotify is organized in tribes. Each team is taking care of a specific area of functionality of the application. The silo-ing is visible throughout the whole navigation of the app which is becoming increasingly disjointed.

This is because most startups/companies usually start with OPR. Other People's Resources. If you do that, you don't care as much about how you approach the product, because you have no skin or little skin in the game, and failing doesn't impact you…

Unless you expand to other markets outside your own, regional one. That is when you need to do that research again, because different cultures might have different needs that revolve around that culture.
