In the beginning, when I thought of “design” writing never came up in my mind as an important skill as a designer in the making or user experience design as a whole.

Still, when you go into the Apple app store and you download Google maps, the first thing you see is a “Search here” search bar. So, the fact that you aren’t left with just a plain map to find your destination; it showed me that writing is important even when use a digital product or as a designer. So, my current thoughts about Writing is it helps me/us as designers be able to create user friendly and organized content also through writing we are able to organize and plan our design during the wireframing process and writing helps us express our creative design ideas and communicate our design work to executives or upper management and investors.

Stellar Writing helps create user-friendly and organized content.

Creating user-friendly and organized content in any digital product make it sort of full proof in term of the ease of use of the product once it’s in the customers' hands. Stellar writing makes certain that the information is clear, organized, and user-friendly. Which means that the written content for the application is user-friendly to all levels of understanding of digital products. which give peace of mind to the designer that it will be easy enough for the user to understand and not have to struggle when reading the content in a product also it addresses any confusion that may occur at any point during the life of the product.

Writing enable us to organize and plan during the design process

Organized content and a well-planned writing during the design process i.e. during wireframing as a designer it allows you to have clear and very detailed explanation of the layout of the content and the functionality of the app and how the journey of the end-user will pan out when the finished product is released to the public but it also allows us to be able to see where it went wrong base on the response from the user which can aid a designer to be able to make adjustments along the way. But most importantly it creates a much more enjoyable app for the user when everything is clear and not a hassle to use.

Writing helps express creative design ideas and communicate with management and investors

As creative professional and specifically as a designer we must be able to express our design ideas/plan to potential investors who might want to know how will you be designing the app or the product to get the user to always come back and continually be an active user in order to be able to have a viable and profitable product; and so being able to write in a manner that someone who’s not a designer to understand is crucial. So, from that point of view writing is really important for communication and to be able to convince the investor that your design will work for the company. Finally, when communicating with your other designer on your team, management, software development and marketing team; writing will be an essential tool to get your point across on what you're trying to do and to help keep everyone you deal with in sync.

In conclusion

Writing is an important tool for a designer that continuously needs to be exercised.

Because as a crucial design skill that aids in Writing create user friendly and organized content, enable us to organize and plan during the design process, and helps express creative design ideas and communicate with management investors and team members and Because writing is a muscle that needs to be used and improve because writing is the right-hand man of a designer.
