So important to make small talk — you’ve got to give something before you can get anything. Give them a nugget about yourself if you’re dealing with the general public or your project if you’re dealing with internal users.

Perceptive piece -thanks. Would strongly agree with not sticking slavishly to the discusssion guide. It is only a guide. If the participant goes off at a tangent then follow them, encourage them as often this is where the real insight and occasional…
